Bollywood actress Sushma Reddy is coming out of her broken relationship with an expatriate Indian businessman.

Sushma has learnt a lesson from her failed affair. And the lesson is that long-distance relationships between two people from different industries do not normally work out.

The actress, being a “very private person”, is unwilling to reveal the name of the man she was dating. All she lets out is that he is an expatriate Indian businessman based in the US. She met him through a common friend and the two got along fine.

The relationship, however, lasted for a few weeks only, because both Sushma and her ex were busy with their professional commitments. And on top of it, they hardly got to meet each other because he is settled in the US, while Sushma is in Mumbai.

A Mid-Day report quotes Sushma as saying: “It was a brief affair and work pressures split us up... I have my film commitments, he had his business ones and ultimately, you can’t have a long-distance relationship over the phone even if you talk to each other every day.”

Sushma added that she is very much single now. And she throws a clue, too.

“I have realised that being an actress, I should date somebody from the film industry as people of the same profession understand each other better,” she is quoted.

Sushma’s next Bollywood release would be Priyadarshan’s Chup Chup Ke , in which she plays a village belle engaged to Shahid Kapur . The movie will hit the theatres on June 9.
